If you’re like me and you work online or you’re a digital nomad, you might be on the hunt for the best coffee shops to work in Ubud ! Those public areas are indeed a perfect spot to sit and get some work done, as they often have great WiFi and Indonesians take coffee culture seriously : the country is the 3rd biggest coffee producer worldwide and it even produces the world’s most expensive coffee, kopi luwak. It turns out I have been trying a bunch of coffee shops during the 10 months I have been living here and I’ve got some favorites 😉 Let me guide you through the best cafes with WiFi in Ubud that check all the boxes : good working conditions, affordable prices and yummy food and drinks !
Sommaire
1. Uptodate
Uptodate has to be my nb 1 favorite coffee shop to work in Ubud. Because it’s not in the center, not many people know about it and very few foreigners go there so the prices are local AND the place is super quiet. I’m usually the only one with my laptop there, although it’s absolutely well adapted for working : great WiFi, plugs everywhere, good seats. Also, you can’t hear the noise of the traffic which is a big + for me ! Just don’t plan to stay there until too late, as they have live music every evening.
💰Price
💲(23k rupiah or less for an iced coffee)
💻Tranquility/working conditions
Perfect
☕Quality of drinks/food
OK. They have a really large choice of beverages (I usually go for something quite basic) but overall the food and drinks are extremely sweet, so feel free to ask for less sugar.
Why I love it : I’m pretty much always alone in this place and the view on the ricefields is super relaxing.
2. WYAH Art and Creative Space
If you’re a fan of architecture, you’ll fall in love with this place. Not only is WYAH’s design stunning – it also lies in a mesmerizing environment. Imagine working in the middle of nature with a 360° view on the jungle and the river below… Can it get more Ubud than that ? This restaurant / coffee shop is another one of the best places to work in Ubud because you’ll always find a quiet spot, the WiFi is great and there are plugs on every single table.
💰Price
💲💲💲 (43k rupiah for a flat white)
💻Tranquility/working conditions
Great. Only downside is that you’re right next to the road.
☕Quality of drinks/food
OK. Not going to lie, I find the food pretty bad but I quite like their coffee, which is enough for me.
Why I love it : the spot is just georgous and it’s giant, so you’ll always find a quiet corner just for yourself.
3. Rüsters
Rüsters is one of those trendy restaurants / coffee shops that most foodie blogs will mention. And I understand why ! The spot is really precious (with, again, a view on ricefields), the food and drinks are yummy and the classy / chill atmosphere makes you want to spend the whole day there. Some spots like the one on the picture are perfect for working. Choose your seat wisely though, because not many tables have a plug nearby. It can get quite noisy around lunch time, but you’re good in between meals. With that many boxes ticked, it’s fair to say that Rüsters is one of the best coffee shops to work in Ubud !
💰Price
💲💲💲 (35k for a flat white but the food is quite pricey)
💻Tranquility/working conditions
OK
☕Quality of drinks/food
Amazing. This place takes coffee seriously ! I haven’t visited many coffee shops where you get to choose the coffee bean you want in your drink. The food I tried was also super tasty.
Why I love it : although the place feels super fancy, the coffee isn’t that expensive and the staff won’t pressure you to re-order.

4. Keliki Coffee
We’re back in the North of Ubud for this cute little coffee shop on the side of the road, a few hundread meters away from WYAH. You’ll notice that my top coffee shops for working in Ubud are all located outside of the very busy city center ! I randomly drove past this little gem one day and it immediately caught my attention. It turns out their coffee is great and it’s pretty quiet most of the time – although do bare in mind that the place is really small, so you won’t be able to isolate yourself if it gets crowded. The major plus is obviously the overhead view of the jungle !
💰Price
💲(28k rupiah for a cold brew vietnamese coffee)
💻Tranquility/working conditions
Great (if your neighbors aren’t too loud)
☕Quality of drinks/food
Yummy coffee, interesting suggestions.
Why I love it : it’s so cute and tiny you would never think it’s a convenient place to work – turns out it is ! Plugs everywhere, fast Wifi… it has it all.
5. Kopi Pangeran
We’re getting closer to the city center with this next great cafe to work in Ubud. The place is easy to miss : it’s pretty small and weirdly located on the bend of the road. Despite that, once you step inside the cute door that looks like a giant hole in the wall, you’ll find a little haven of peace. Refined design, intimist setting and cute seats under a beautiful tree… My tip is to resist to the adorable, Instagrammy courtyard and seat inside where you’ll be completely isolated from the noise of the street.
💰Price
💲💲(29k rupiah for a specialty latte)
💻Tranquility/working conditions
Great if you seat inside.
☕Quality of drinks/food
Good. Their coffee based-drinks are quite original.
Why I love it : the room inside is so quiet is actually feels like an office !
6. Monsieur Spoon
We’re right in the city center this time, with this famous coffee shop/bakery located on the busy Jalan Hanoman. The French chain Monsieur Spoon is pretty famous in the South of Bali, so don’t expect an empty place. Despite that, I think it’s worth mentionning it as one of the best coffee shops to work from in Ubud because most customers come here to work, so it never gets too noisy and the WiFi is really fast. Make sure you don’t have breakfast before you come here, because the temptation will be too big !
💰Price
💲💲(37k rupiah for a capuccino)
💻Tranquility/working conditions
Great
☕Quality of drinks/food
Fantastic. Coffee is good and they have one of the best croissants / pastries I’ve had outside of France – and as a French person, that’s a big statement !
Why I love it : as a French expat in Bali, this place feels a bit like home 🤭
7. PUKAKO
PUKAKO has one of those dreamy sceneries you’d expect finding in Ubud : a tiny path in the middle of ricefields (barely large enough for 2 scooters), coconut trees and a cute bamboo design. Although it looks like it’s in the middle of nowhere, there are actually many hotels / touristy buildings on that little road so it might get a bit busy if you come too late. I still think it’s one of the best cafes to work in Ubud in terms of atmosphere !
💰Price
💲💲 (30k rupiah for an iced latte but the food is quite pricey)
💻Tranquility/working conditions
OK. If a class finishes in the nearby yoga school, you’re f***ed because all the students will come here to chill afterwards 🫠
☕Quality of drinks/food
Good – nothing too crazy.
Why I love it : to me, this place is the typical Ubud café. The scenery really is wonderful.
8. Tucky
Tucky is one of those places that seem perfectly average from the outside, but it turns out to be a great coffee shop to work in Ubud ! Their coffee is really good (their pastries too), it is almost empty most of the day and their WiFi works great. It’s also right in the center of Ubud – pretty convenient if you’re too lazy to drive outside of town 😉
💰Price
💲💲(50k for a coffee + pastry)
💻Tranquility/working conditions
Great. Plugs everywhere, quiet.
☕Quality of drinks/food
Good.
Why I love it : it’s in the center of Ubud but that little road isn’t too crowded !
9. Suka Kopi
Suka Kopi is another hidden gem I found when I was living South of Ubud. A simple glance at their reviews on Google will convince you that the food and drinks quality is great here and guess what, it’s also one of the best coffee shops to work from in Ubud ! The atmosphere is stunning (the shop sits in a traditional balinese house so you can choose to sit inside or outside in the courtyard), it’s quiet and on top of that, they served really yummy and cheap breakfast. Oh and also, they have a family of irresistible french bulldogs 🐶
💰Price
💲(27k for a cappuccino)
💻Tranquility/working conditions
Great !
☕Quality of drinks/food
Really tasty.
Why I love it : I like to sit outside where it really feels like I’m working from a balinese home’s courtyard !
10. Lazy Cats Café
Lazy Cats is often ranked in top positions of the best places to work in Ubud. Although I do want to mention it in this article (because it is a beautiful place indeed), I chose to put it at the end of my ranking because in total honesty, I couldn’t manage to be productive each time I worked there… Again, it’s a very « Instagrammy » spot, which means it’s often crowded, loud and quite expensive. You can also hear the traffic. Despite of all that, I do see people working everytime I go there so I’m assuming I might be more sensitive to the noise than the average person 😅
💰Price
💲💲(38k for an iced latte)
💻Tranquility/working conditions
Pretty bad.
☕Quality of drinks/food
Good.
Why I love it : you have to admit it’s the perfect Instagrammable spot !
